Piano Lessons
Piano lessons are the very best place to begin your musical journey. Starting lessons on a piano rather than on variable-pitch instrument (for example, a violin or a flute) allows the student to focus on learning the basics of musical notation, dynamics, and technique without also having to learn how to produce the correct pitch for each note. Even if your child (or you!) is already in love with a different instrument, the piano is still the best place to learn the basics.
Private piano lessons - $35/half hour, $65/hour
I offer lessons in my home studio in Matthews, NC, for $30/half hour or $60/hour. For an additional travel fee, it may be possible for me to come to your home for lessons, depending on distance and scheduling.

Use this form to request lessons for yourself or your child. Beginners are welcome! However, please note that I do not accept students younger than 6 years old, and I encourage parents to wait until their child is at least 8 years old before beginning lessons. Around 8 years old is when children are typically developmentally ready to benefit from formal lessons and have the necessary attention span for regular practice sessions between lessons.
